the lunar eclipse

A lunar eclipse is an optical phenomenon during which the shadow of the Earth obscures the Moon entirely or partially, while it is in its heyday (full moon).
for this reason we will have an almost perfect alignment between the sun, earth, and moon (following exactly the proposed order) where the sun and the moon present themselves exactly at the opposite ends.

from the graph you can see moon and sun (circled in red) in opposite coordinates

You can therefore have various types of lunar eclipses, depending on whether the Moon enters totally (total eclipse) or partially (partial eclipse) in to the shadow cone, totally or partially in the penumbra cone (penumbral eclipse).

The  eclipse in occultism and esoterism

from the occultistic/folkloristic point of view the lunar eclipse represents an unfortunate omen of dubious nature, because according to popular superstitions:

“Where there should be a beacon in the night, as white as milk, we now find darkness or the moon dyed with blood.”

According to some scholars of matter also indicates “a sudden interruption” of the normal flow of events, and although the action exerted by the lunar star is still present for its physical presence in the sky, it is depleted by the action “” “shadow” of the earth.
Following some ancient (or even Indo-European) rabbinical traditions, any kind of eclipse would be the tangible manifestation of Lilith – in Jewish tradition – or Rahu (the equivalent of lilith or black moon) in the Hindu Vaisnava tradition; thus indicating a period of misfortune and curse.

From a purely esoteric point of view it is easy to notice how the moon and the sun that symbolically represent:, intuition/emotion and intellect, find the positions absolutely opposite, thus exasperating also the opposition of meanings that concern them, a period in which the monofof of ideas clashes with emotions, leading to an inner division such as to cause conflict and “obscure” every idea or emotion.

Although according to some traditions, (for the aforementioned reasons) the eclipse period represents a conducive moment to acts of “dark” nature, the wisest way to welcome this event is simply to avoid making important decisions for itself themselves and the others…
